Project Description:
The objective of this research project is to audit veteran organizations, specifically focusing on the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) and The American Legion. These organizations, with their community-centered posts and buildings, play a significant role in the veteran community. The central aim is to identify potential gaps in their organization, member engagement, and donor attraction strategies.
This project will systematically evaluate their organizational structures, operation processes, member engagement mechanisms, donor acquisition, and retention strategies. Special attention will be given to understanding the various components of these organizations, including leadership, resource allocation, volunteer recruitment, fundraising, service delivery, and community impact.
Methodology will include, but not be limited to:
Detailed surveys and interviews with organization leadership, members, volunteers, and donors, seeking to understand experiences, challenges, and perceptions.
Comparative analysis of the organizations to identify common themes, challenges, and successful strategies.
Case study analysis of individual posts, highlighting successful strategies and pinpointing areas of inefficiency or ineffectiveness.
Data gathering and analysis of existing documentation and metrics pertaining to the organizations' performance and outcomes.
This study will also seek to identify the organizations' key strengths, which can provide a foundation for developing recommendations to address identified gaps and inefficiencies.
The results of this research project will provide valuable insights that can guide the development of the Last 1 platform. By understanding the complex challenges faced by these veteran organizations, Last 1 can better design and implement solutions that address these gaps, ultimately improving the quality, scalability, and efficacy of social impact projects targeted at serving the veteran community.
